MAGIC MIKE Channing Tautm:
As the saying goes, art will imitate life for actor Channing Tatum when he begins filming the movie "Magic Mike" with director Steven Soderbergh where he will play a male stripper, Deadline reported.
Before Tatum's Hollywood success with movies like "G.I. Joe" and "Step Up," Tatum worked as a stripper and model in Florida when he was 19-years-old.
"This was a wild and pivotal time in my life and I couldn't be more thrilled to go down the rabbit hole with Steven," Tatum said.
Sorderbergh, who has talked about retirement for some time, was actually given the idea for the movie by Tatum himself and thought it was a great idea for a film.
"When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I'd ever heard for a movie. I said I wanted in immediately. It's sexy, funny and shocking," the director said.
They are using the classic film "Saturday Night Fever" as their "model" for the movie. Sorderbergh hopes that it is a right choice and direction to go into.
"Magic Mike" will be the story about an experience male stripper mentoring a younger male stripper on how to work the scene. The film will follow them on their wild summer journey of friendship and craziness, Deadline reported.
Thirty-one-year old Tatum is currently filming the movie "21 Jump Street," based on the popular television series, the Huffington Post reported.
Tatum can next be seen co-starring with Rachel McAdams in "The Vow" and "Ten Year" co-starring Justin Long.

Alex Pettyfer:
Pettyfer will star in Soderbergh's MAGIC MIKE as (bear with me) the young Channing Tatum, who will also star in the movie as the mentor to young Channing Tatum. Dizzying, yeah. Hair gel companies are almost certainly already jockeying for prime product placement.
The movie was inspired by Tatum's early days as an exotic dancer, which undoubtedly provided enough amusing stories to fill a feature-length movie, and according to Deadline "is the story of a friendship set in the world of male strippers. Tatum plays the title character, who schools a young dancer (Pettyfer) in how to hustle on and off the stage."
Soderbergh also has his George Clooney-starring spy flick THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. and his Liberace biopic to polish off before he supposedly eventually retires. His action flick HAYWIRE is due in August.
Pettyfer will next be seen with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried in Andrew Niccol's sci-fi thriller IN TIME, which is the latest title after it went through I'M.MORTAL and NOW.

THE VOW Channing Tautm:
Call it the all-sappy dream team: Rachel McAdams, she of the tearjerking "The Notebook," and Channing Tatum, the titular character in "Dear John." Combining forces, they're set to present perhaps the fundamentally Valentine's Day date movie of all time.
The pair star in "The Vow," the story of a newlywed couple torn apart by McAdams' memory loss following a car accident -- which goes down because they were too busy kissing to notice the oncoming truck. Directed by Michael Sucsy, the film follows McAdams' struggle to repair her memory, and Tatum's solid vow to never leave his wife -- even when she doesn't know who he is.
It's a much more heartwarming role for McAdams, who plays the less than pleasant wife of Owen Wilson in Woody Allen's new film, "Midnight In Paris." And it by far outclasses one of Tatum's next gigs, the Stephen Soderbergh-directed stripper film, "Magic Mike."
"The Vow" hits theaters February 10th, 2012.

STEP UP Channing Tatum:
Channing Tatum in STEP UP
STEP UP Story:
Following a party, Mac (Damaine Radcliff) and Skinny Carter (De'Shawn Washington), and their friend Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum), break into the Maryland School of Arts and damage many of the props in the school's theatre. When a security guard appears, Tyler helps the other two escape and accepts the blame. He is sentenced to 200 hours of community service, which he has to serve at the school. While working, he watches a dance class and meets Nora Clark (Jenna Dewan), a student preparing for her "senior showcase." The performance could determine if she gets a job with a dance company. Later, Nora secretly watches as Tyler mockingly shows his friends a mix of break-dance and the ballet moves he picked up. Nora's dance partner sprains his ankle, leaving Nora without a partner. After auditioning some students, she doesn't meet anyone who is good enough. Tyler offers to help, but she at first refuses. Eventually she changes her mind, having seen him dancing earlier, and convinces Director Gordon (Rachel Griffiths) to allow Tyler to rehearse with her. During their initial practice session, Tyler is antagonistic toward Nora as well as her boyfriend, Brett (Josh Henderson), both of whom respond with haughty attitudes. As they continue to rehearse, Nora and Tyler grow closer, each teaching the other about their respective styles of dance. Tyler also befriends a musician at the school named Miles (Mario), who has a crush on Nora's friend, Lucy (Drew Sidora).
One day, Nora takes Tyler to a special spot on the waterfront, which is where she envisioned her routine. She tells Tyler she always imagined it would be with a large group, and Tyler helps her dream come true by recruiting younger dancers from the school to perform in her number. Brett gets a recording deal with a company, but in doing so, dumps Miles to sign the deal. Nora then breaks up with Brett after seeing his poor treatment of their friend.
Tyler asks Director Gordon if she will let him attend the school, and her response is that he must prove to her that he deserves a chance. Upon hearing this, Nora says the showcase can be his audition. After dancing together at a club, Nora and Tyler begin a romantic relationship. However, when Nora's dance partner returns, seemingly healed from his injury, Tyler feels that he is no longer needed in the routine, and angrily accuses Nora of treating him the same way her ex-boyfriend treated Miles. He leaves the group and so he goes back to janitorial work at the school. However, in the course of the training Nora has been incorporating many of Tyler's suggestions for the choreography, and it is now too difficult for the original partner to perform. Nora is left without a partner, but though she is crushed, she changes the choreography into a dance without a partner.
Later on, Skinny is fatally shot after stealing a car, making Mac and Tyler realize that they need to make better choices in their lives. Later at the event, Tyler shows up and Nora is shocked to see him. Tyler tries to persuade Nora to let him in. She initially says no but then thankfully changes her mind and Tyler dances with her onstage (using their original choreography), impressing everybody.
When Director Gordon tells a Director from a Professional Dance company looking to sign Nora that Tyler is a transfer student, Nora becomes pleased, and at the last moment Tyler kisses Nora and the story ends.

DEAR JOHN Channing Tatum :
Dear John Story:
Dear John is a 2010 American romantic drama-war film starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. It was released theatrically in North America on February 5, 2010. The film was directed by Lasse Hallström, and it is an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks's novel of the same name. It follows the life of a soldier (Channing Tatum) after he falls in love with a young woman (Amanda Seyfried). They decide to exchange letters to each other after he is deployed to the war.
Despite receiving negative reviews, the film made a strong box office performance, knocking off Avatar after seven weekends in first place and grossing a total of $112,157,433 worldwide. The film was released on May 25, 2010 on DVD and Blu-ray.
John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army is lying on the ground in combat gear with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Coins begin to fall over him as, in a voiceover, he recalls a childhood trip to the U.S. Mint. He compares himself to a coin in the United States Military, and states that the last thing he thought about before he blacked out was "you".
We flash back to a beach, where John is on leave in Wilmington, NC, and he meets Savannah Lynn Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), a college student on spring break. Over the course of two weeks, Savannah and John fall in love. John meets Savannah's family, her neighbor, Tim Wheddon (Henry Thomas), and Tim's son Alan (Luke Benward) who has Autism.
Savannah meets John's father (Richard Jenkins), a reclusive man who seems to be obsessed with his coin collection, (specifically mules), but her genuine interest draws him, to John's surprise. Savannah mentions to John that his father, like Alan, may have Autism. This upsets John, who gets into a fight with Savannah's neighbor, Randy (Scott Porter) and, in the process, accidentally punches Tim. John apologizes to Tim, leaves Savannah a note, and then they spend one last day together, parting with, "I'll see you soon, then," rather than goodbye.
John and Savannah continue their relationship through letters, expecting to build a life together when he leaves the army. But the September 11 attacks make him reconsider, and he ultimately chooses to re-enlist. Over the next two years, the romance goes on, through their letters. After a time, John finds himself anxiously waiting the next letter, but when it arrives it is a Dear John letter, informing him that she has become engaged to someone else. John is so deeply depressed by the news that he burns all of Savannah's letters.
Despite being wounded and encouraged to return home, John re-enlists. After four more years and many missions, while waiting to receive orders on his unit's next deployment, John is informed that his father had a stroke. When John arrives at the hospital he learns that his father is still alive but in grave condition. Feeling guilty, he asks the doctor if the outcome would have been different if he had been there earlier but the doctor says no. John writes a letter to his father, which he reads to him at the hospital; John's voiceover at the beginning of the film was from this letter, in which he told his father that the first thing to cross his mind after he was shot was coins, and the last thing to cross his mind before he lost consciousness was his dad, ultimately the most important thing in his life. Shortly thereafter, his father dies.
John goes to visit Savannah and is shocked to find that she has married Tim and is living with him and his son Alan. He learns that she had to abandon her dream of a riding camp for autistic kids because of Tim's fight against lymphoma, and John goes with her to visit him in the hospital. Tim tells John that Savannah still loves him; but John says goodbye to Savannah and leaves. He makes a decision to sell all of his father's coin collection except the mule that John found, to raise money which could help Tim in his treatment. Months later John receives a letter from Savannah telling him "I'll see you soon, then."
The movie ends with John and Savannah meeting each other in town one day...
